The Adult/Pediatric Respiratory Care Practitioner is an
individual who is professionally skilled in the application of
respiratory care services and must have the ability to work well
with minimum supervision. Abilities to meet the specific needs of
these age groups may be gained through previous education,
experience and/or additional education and training. May be
responsible for assisting intubation procedures requiring
specialized training depending on staffing needs. Must be competent
to work in all areas of the hospital. Maintains communication
between physicians, nursing and other departments as part of the
health care delivery team.

Required: Graduate from an AMA, CoARC or JRCRTE approved
Respiratory Therapy program; current and valid Registered
Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for
Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Preferred: Associate Degree
Required: Current and valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
license from the Respiratory Care Board of California and American
Heart Association BLS.
Required: American Heart Association ACLS and PALS if hired
after March 1, 2018.
If hired prior to March 1, 2018, must obtain American Heart
Association ACLS and PALS by November 30, 2018.
Preferred: NRP, NPS
Preferred: Minimum two years experience in an acute care

Promotes and provides a safe and effective Respiratory Care to
