registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity seeks
experienced Registered Nurses with a strong background in stepdown
care to manage complex neurological and surgical patients in a
progressive care unit. The setting includes a 10-bed unit
specialized in medical cases involving neuromuscular disorders,
meningitis, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injuries, as
well as surgical patients recovering from brain and spinal tumor
resections, spinal surgery, and head and neck cancer procedures.
Key responsibilities include providing expert care for patients
with advanced monitoring needs such as arterial lines,
ventriculostomies, subdural drains, and lumbar drains, especially
within clinical trials involving Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus
(NPH). Nurses will manage hemodynamic and invasive blood pressure
monitoring, care for patients on Bi-PAP/C-PAP ventilation, and
administer vasoactive medications including low dose pressors,
inotropes, Mannitol, and hypertonic saline. Experience with
tracheostomies, complex wound management, and post-surgical line
and drain care is essential. Desired Experience and Skills:
Proficient in hemodynamic and invasive BP monitoring using arterial
lines Skilled in managing Bi-PAP/C-PAP and ventilated trach
patients in neuro-specialty critical care Experience administering
vasoactive meds, inotropes, Mannitol, and 3% saline Knowledgeable
in caring for patients with ventriculostomies, subdural and lumbar
drains Ability to care for complex wounds and multiple lines/tubes
in post-surgical patients Comfortable with critical care of
neurological and surgical stepdown patients Schedule: Day/Night
rotation 36 hours per week Location:Situated in Claremont, NH, this
