Job Description Description As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist specializing in Transfusion Medicine, you will be integral to our patient care team, undertaking the following duties: •/tConduct patient transfusion testing and handle immunohematology problem work-ups. •/tPerform computer data entry and retrieval tasks. •/tExecute quality control testing and engage in quality assurance activities. •/tProvide essential transfusion support for a diverse range of patients, including those undergoing trauma and transplant procedures at UCLA Medical Center. •/tRecord and review test results for accuracy and completeness while maintaining meticulous lab records. •/tAssist fellow patient care team members with inquiries regarding test results and blood product availability. Salary Range: $55.98 - $74.59/hour In addition to a competitive salary range, this position is also eligible for shift differentials and bonus pay. Qualifications •/tCurrent, valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist (CIS) license. •/tBachelor’s degree. •/tMust pass the Ishihara Color Vision exam, i.e. visual acuity including color differentiation. •/tTwo years of recent CLS experience within a Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine setting – preferred. •/tExperience with MTS gel methodology and solid-phase testing – preferred. •/tAbility to work 11:00am – 7:30pm shifts occasionally.
