Great opportunity for a *Pediatric Nurse Practitioner* to be part of our PICU which is a 36-bed unit across two locations in the hospital. As the Nurse Practitioner - PICU, your responsibilities will include ordering, conducting and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies in a cost-efficient manner. The Pediatric NP works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage client's health care problems. The PICU NP serves as health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant and patient advocate. Demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care. Will accept an NP with 1-2 years of acute peds NP experience with strong prior acute peds RN experience in the PICU.* 1+ year of specialty area experience preferred.* Masters of Science degree in Nursing from an N.L.N. accredited graduate school of nursing required.*Education/Licensure/Certification for a PICU Nurse Practitioner (NP)** Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing for hold out as a Nurse Practitioner as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code.* Current California Registered Nurse License* Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner.* National certification as appropriate - preferred.* Eligible for Furnishing License - preferred.The PICU provides family-centered, multidisciplinary care for critically ill patients ranging from infancy through young adulthood.
