Job Description Job Description Senior Estimator Senior Estimator Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for leading the estimating process for various construction projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in cost estimation, and providing strategic insight to support project bidding and management. This role will involve collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to prepare comprehensive estimates for civil construction and infrastructure projects, particularly in utility and wastewater treatment sectors. Key Responsibilities - Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects, focusing on civil construction and infrastructure development. - Analyze project plans and specifications to assess the scope of work and determine accurate quantities and costs. - Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather relevant information for estimates. - Prepare and maintain a database of cost information, including historical data, labor rates, and material prices. - Review and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitiveness and accuracy. - Provide mentorship and training to junior estimators and support the estimating team as needed. - Participate in project meetings and present estimates to stakeholders, including management and clients. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for construction projects, with a focus on civil construction and infrastructure. - Strong understanding of utility projects, including UG utilities and wastewater treatment plants (WWTP). - Proven experience as a Chief Estimator or in a similar role within a general contracting environment. - Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
