Job Description:
La Sierra University is seeking an Office Coordinator for the
Criminal Justice program who will support students, faculty, and
staff through effective administrative coordination and
customer-focused service. This position plays a vital role in
supporting academic operations, managing office workflows, and
serving as a central point of communication for the program. DUTIES
& RESPONSIBILITIES General Office Responsibilities Manage
department telephone calls, voicemails, emails, and front desk
visitors Process student and employee records Prepare expense
reports and other office documents as needed Organize and maintain
confidential files, records, email and texting groups, and other
sensitive student data Schedule departmental meetings and maintain
minutes for each meeting Provide initial assistance to students
with questions, and direct them to the appropriate resources Pick
up and distribute mail from the Riverside campus & Corona campus
Assist with photocopying and distributing materials as needed
Prepare and proofread correspondence as required Coordinate travel
arrangements as needed Maintain inventory of office supplies,
ordering supplies when necessary Assist in planning and executing
departmental events through for the Corona and Rancho Mirage
campuses, including summer orientations for freshmen and
end-of-year celebrations for graduating seniors In consultation
with the Director, create posters and social media posts for campus
events and services Share email announcements and reminders Assist
with minor technology issues (classrooms, computer labs, & copy
machines) Manage timecard approval (Kronos) for student workers and
adjunct instructors, as well as track adjunct hours for each
quarter Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors
Faculty Assistance Duties Obtain and process textbook adoptions in
collaboration with the La Sierra University online Bookstore
Proctor exams and/or quizzes as needed by faculty Assist the
Criminal Justice Service Learning Coordinator with calling service
partners, scheduling meetings with service partners, and keeping
records and contact information for service learning courses. Keep
record of all course syllabi for courses taught on Criminal Justice
campuses. Staff Assistance Duties Create quarterly classroom
schedule and final exam schedule Assist Directors with
record-keeping regarding Criminal Justice budgets, Chapel
attendance, and staff records Update and distribute handbook for
adjunct instructors Maintain communication with adjunct professors
regarding university policies and procedures Organize and draft
contracts for all adjunct professors Student Worker Assistance
Duties (Corona Campus) In consultation with the Director, post,
interview, and hire student workers for the Corona campus Organize
and draft contracts for student workers Create quarterly front desk
and shuttle schedules Train and oversee front desk workers and
student drivers Assist with shuttle services between Riverside and
Corona campuses, as necessary JOB SPECIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education: Bachelor’s degree Experience: 1-2 years clerical and/or
office experience is preferred. Physical/Mental Demands: Physical
labor is minimal - light lifting may be required during
departmental events and mail/package retrieval. Full-time,
non-exempt position working four (4) 10-hour shifts per week,
Monday through Thursday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Schedule includes one unpaid 30-minute meal period and two paid
15-minute rest breaks per shift, in accordance with California law.
Schedule may be subject to change based on operational needs. The
ideal candidate will be reliable, responsible, self-motivated, and
able to work both independently and as part of a team. Maintain the
confidentiality of departmental/employee/student information;
ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner, both
verbally and in writing. Typing 45 wpm or more, and computer skills
(Excel, MS Word, Google Drive, etc.), excellent interpersonal
skills, ability to work in a professional manner, under pressure,
and carry out multiple tasks simultaneously, routine abilities
associated with record keeping/filing/sorting, etc. Ability to
focus on details and think creatively; strong clerical skills
(filing and typing); bilingual abilities are highly preferred; must
be able to interact with and convey a positive attitude to visitors
and the campus community in person or by phone; be able to work an
established work schedule; reliably work set hours as assigned.

$19.12 - $21.25 per hour, plus generous benefits.
